Renewal of the scholarship program for students with disabilities at the University of Castilla-La Mancha29.06.2016
Miguel Ángel Collado, rector at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), Emilio Ontiveros, president of the University Social Council, and Ignacio Egea, vice-chair of Fundación Repsol, renewed the collaboration agreement today in Ciudad Real, extending the scholarship programme signed in 2014 to create wider access for students with disabilities to study at university.
The agreement includes a public competition with four scholarships available for students with disabilities who plan to start their undergraduate studies at the University of Castilla-La Mancha in 2016-2017, and will renew the eight scholarships awarded in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016. With a total budget of €24 000, the value of each scholarship will now rise to two thousand euros, and will be provided by Fundación Repsol together with the Social Council at the UCLM.
The students will be able to continue renewing their annual support until they complete their undergraduate studies (four academic years), provided that they meet the requirements specified in the rules of the public competition for the programme.
Students interested in the scholarships should apply between the 1st and 24th of October, by filling out a standardised form that will be made available in the Public competitions section of the UCLM and the Social Council web page.
This agreement began in September 2014 as an initiative created by Fundación Repsol and the UCLM Social Council to promote and open access to higher education for people with disabilities, and to work towards comprehensive social inclusion, equal opportunities and available work positions.
After the UCLM Social Council and Fundación Repsol signed the addendum to the agreement, diplomas were awarded to the students who had won the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 scholarships.
