Transform waste into biofuels

New technologies to reduce CO2 emissions

A new series of three online events along with different experts to deepen the understanding of some of the key technologies for the energy transition. This first webinar is focused on waste-to-fuels.

This conversion, which can be carried out using different technologies, allows for the transformation of non-food organic waste, such as forest or solid urban waste, into liquid fuels.

As a result, there is a new path toward the decarbonization of transportation, especially for sectors like aviation, maritime transportation, and heavy-duty road transportation.

The technologies that are being applied as well as the challenges and opportunities these fuels provide will be analyzed at this event.

Marie Vandendriessche, senior researcher at  EsadeGeo – Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics, will welcome everyone and serve as the moderator. Miguel Ángel García Carreño, the Repsol Technology Lab's design process manager, and Juha Lehtonen, Research Professor at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, will participate in the event.
