Fundación Repsol supported the concert given by the Galicia Symphony Orchestra (SOG) which took place at the A Coruña opera house (Palacio de la Ópera de A Coruña). Under the direction of the English conductor Rumon Gamba, the SOG, together with the Swedish trumpet player Hakan Hardenberger, performed Brett Dean's Trumpet Concerto for the first time in Spain. More than 1000 spectators enjoyed Symphony no. 1 in B flat minor by William Walton, which closed the show.

This concert is part of Repsol and the Fundación's commitment to culture, which aims to bring music closer to the people. Repsol and the Fundación have worked with the Galicia Symphony Orchestra since 1998, and have donated over 1 million euros during that time to develop its cultural work.

Committed to talent

Fundación Repsol also supports the music education of children through its sponsorship of the SOG's educational programme SonFuturo. A donation of over 70 000 euros has been made towards this programme's activities, which include a variety of initiatives such as the Youth and Children's Orchestra, the Youth Chorus and the Child Singers of the SOG, as well as educational concerts for schools and families offered by the Galicia Symphony Orchestra.
