We now have the finalists of the second Energy with Conscience Championship23.05.2016
The five schools to take part in the final of the second Energy with consciousness Championship, which will take place on the Repsol campus (Madrid) in June, were decided during the recent Evaluation Committee meeting.
The chosen institutions are:
• IES Fray Andrés (Puertollano)
• Colegio Mª Inmaculada (Puertollano)
• IES Mediterráneo (Cartagena)
• Colegio Montserrat-Fuhem (Madrid)
• Colegio San Juan Bosco-Salesianos (Puertollano)
Following the Championship rating criteria, the Evaluation Committee assessed creativity, innovation, feasibility of improvement plans, presentation quality, teamwork, and environmental outreach and awareness.
The work carried out in the Championship by the other six competing schools was also of an exceptionally high standard (Colegio La Inmaculada PP Franciscanos, Cartagena; Institut Antoni Martí i Franquès, Tarragona; Colegio El Porvenir, Madrid; Colegio La Sagrada Familia, Cartagena; Colegio de Jesús, Madrid y Centro de Formación Somorrostro, Vizcaya).
In the second half of June, the Energy with consciousness Championship grand final will take place when students from each school will present their analysis reports and energy efficiency improvement plans to the jury. The two most successful teams will be awarded a cash prize of 7,000 and 3,000 euros respectively to go towards the school's upkeep costs.
The Championship is the final stage of the Energy with consciousness 2016 programme, a Fundación Repsol initiative to raise awareness among young people about the need to use energy resources responsibly, with the help of a number of Repsol volunteers. This year, over six-hundred students have taken part, from eighteen schools in A Coruña, Ciudad Real, Madrid, Murcia, Tarragona, and Vizcaya.
