Innovative training for VT students

What does it consist of?

Through this programme, VT students are taught to be enterprising and develop a technology-based business project with the support of a tutor (VT teacher) and a Repsol volunteer.

The programme runs from September to February and is split into five stages. Over the course of the programme, students take part in various training sessions and practical workshops on leadership, creativity, teamwork, communication, and lean startup methodology lead by experts in each of the subjects.

The project wraps up with a session in each location, in which the projects are presented to a jury. The two best projects in each location receive a prize.

Participating in the programme improves students' employability, as they receive training in the key skills demanded by companies and also learn how to set up their own business.

Five stages

The programme is divided into five consecutive stages:

A group session aimed at encouraging students' creativity in the search for innovative solutions to concrete problems. A team of experts will select the students who will lead the teams during the remainder of the programme from among participants.

Training for the tutors, volunteers, and students selected during the Hackathon aimed at teaching them to use different techniques and tools to lead work teams, address business management issues, and apply these skills to the development of their projects.

After participating in the above activities, the students are grouped into teams of between three and five members, plus a tutor (trainer) and a Repsol volunteer (an employee of the energy company) who will offer them guidance throughout the process.

Each team develops a technology-based business idea. During this process, in addition to the support of the tutor and volunteers, the students take part in five training workshops aimed at validating their idea and teaching them how to convey it.

At the end of the programme, participants are required to defend their project in front of a jury, competing against the other teams in their area. The two best teams in each location will also receive a prize.

This programme continues the work carried out to promote innovation in Vocational Training through the VT Energy programme.
