Repsol Foundation joins the commemoration of World Environment Day

Today, June 5, World Environment Day takes place. At the Repsol Foundation we promote initiatives that commit to an efficient, sustainable, just, and inclusive energy transition in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

One of our projects is the Green Engine marketplace, a digital tool with which any company or individual can now support the reforestation of forests in Spain, helping to recover biodiversity in burned lands, generate employment, and create new opportunities in the rural environment.

Taking part is very simple, you only have to access Green Engine marketplace, choose with how many trees you want to take part, in which forest, and make your contribution.

With one tree, you’ll be helping to absorb an average of 200-300 kg of CO₂ from the atmosphere, which is the equivalent to the emissions of 150 1-hour meetings. With this action not only will you be mitigating your carbon footprint, but you're also helping social development and to recover biodiversity in the rural environment.

Moreover, through Green Engine marketplace , you can, in just three steps, calculate your annual carbon footprint from your lifestyle and consumption habits, or calculate the emissions from your daily activities, such as meetings, meals, and travel.

This initiative is part of the Green Engine project, developed by the Repsol Foundation and our investee company Grupo Sylvestris. The largest private reforestation initiative in Spain and Portugal, which is generating a transformative effect on the environment, society, and economy in our immediate environment.

Commitment of Repsol Volunteers

At the Repsol Foundation, we also count on the commitment of Repsol Volunteers to conserve the environment and transform society, promoting an efficient, sustainable, just, and inclusive energy transition.
