Participantes del programa challenge

At Fundación Repsol, we are launching the 2nd edition of the University Challenge, a project aimed at undergraduate and master’s students from Spanish and Portuguese universities, with the goal of finding innovative and viable solutions to the major challenges of the energy transition.

There will be two categories: one for undergraduate students from all disciplines and another for students pursuing technical master’s degrees.

Process stages

The University Challenge will be carried out in four stages:

  • Registration: Students can sign up in teams of 3 to 5 members. If you don’t have a team, we will help you form one.
  • Ideation: Over several weeks, each team will work independently on designing their proposal before submitting their application.
  • Selection of finalists: A panel of experts and consultants will select the 32 proposals that will move on to the next stage.
  • Hackathon and project presentations: Finalists will further develop their proposals and present their projects in a short pitch format to a jury of Repsol professionals, who will choose the winners.

How to take part?

Anyone interested in participating can leave their details in the form for the 2nd edition of the Fundación Repsol University Challenge, and we will inform them as soon as registration opens.

What can you win?

Finalists will enjoy the experience of taking part in the hackathon in Madrid, where the 32 finalist teams —16 undergraduate and 16 master’s— will compete to become one of the winners. They will be awarded significant cash prizes and the opportunity to join Repsol’s “Talent Energy” internship programme.

In addition, all finalists will receive an AI course certified by Founderz and Microsoft, as well as a certificate of participation in the Fundación Repsol University Challenge.

What was the 1st edition of the University Challenge like?

In the first edition, more than 1,700 students from over 80 universities across Spain took part.
