Heading: 2nd Circular Economy Conference Series: “Economic and energy recovery of waste”

As part of the Repsol Foundation Conference Series, we’ve joined forces with FUNSEAM to create the “2nd Circular Economy Conference Series”, which consists of four sessions where we will be looking at different topics relating to waste, how it can be used as part of the transition towards the circular economy, and the technological potential for decarbonizing the economy and fulfilling climate commitments.

We’ll learn about the different opportunities arising from the Circular Economy based on specific experiences and projects that are already underway, all explained by key speakers from the fields of energy and the environment.

This second session will focus on energy recovery of waste as a component worthy of consideration in the Circular Economy. The utilization of heat from waste that cannot be sustainably recycled offers highly valuable raw materials that can be used in energy efficient facilities. We will look beyond the economic advantages of energy utilization to focus on the multiple benefits in regard to energy supply, energy security, and climate change, through the use of conventional fossil fuels and the reduction of organic matter in landfills.

Upcoming sessions:

  • “Technological solutions in the waste sector”, Thursday, October 14, from 12 p.m to 1:30 p.m.

“International experiences in waste management”, Thursday, October 28, from 12 p.m to 1:30 p.m.
