1. What is the Repsol Volunteering Plan?
The Repsol Volunteering Plan launches projects where volunteers will have the chance to become a driver of social change.
The aim of the Plan is to contribute to an inclusive energy transition, developing social and environmental projects within the framework of 4 programs: Energy efficiency, Carbon footprint reduction and environmental awareness, Green employment, and Entrepreneurship and social innovation.
2. What is the inclusive energy transition?
The energy transition addresses energy production in an unconventional way, implementing new ways of using energy that comes from renewable sources.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) refers to the new green economy as “one that results in improved human well-being and social equity, reducing environmental risks and pressure on natural systems, as well as harmonising economic development and efficient consumption of resources.”
That is why the Repsol Volunteering Plan proposes to respond to the multiple socio-occupational challenges faced by the most vulnerable groups, as well as the social organisations that support them, in the face of this great paradigm shift. The main challenges are energy poverty, unemployment, low qualifications in the new professional profiles required, the improvement of digitalisation, and the training of social organisations in matters of economic and environmental sustainability.
3. What type of volunteering opportunities can I find within the Repsol Volunteering Plan?
You will be able to get involved in projects of various kinds: from supporting social organisations to achieve a greater social, economic, and environmental impact; collaborating in the training of vulnerable groups to improve skills focused on green jobs; to taking part in awareness-raising initiatives on energy efficiency or the circular economy, as well as in actions to restore natural environments.
4. Who are the Repsol Volunteering Plan opportunities aimed at?
Diversity is one of the main characteristics of the Volunteering Plan.
You will be able to collaborate in different forms of international projects (in-person and online); and open to the participation of different groups of people: employees and their families/friends, former employees, retirees, or interns.
5. How can I join the Repsol Volunteering team?
Becoming a Repsol Volunteer is very simple. Clicking this link will take you to the Repsol Volunteers website where you can sign up as a Repsol Volunteer by filling out a short form.
Some time during the day, you will receive a welcome email where you can access the volunteering portal when your account is created.
In this way, in addition to being able to sign up for the volunteering opportunity you wish to take part in, you will receive regular notifications on the latest news about the Repsol Volunteering Plan.
If you are a former employee, retiree, family member, or friend, keep in mind that the email you provide will be the one we use in case of registration, news, questions, or incidents.
6. The Repsol Volunteering portal is in a different language to my own. How can I set the language?
At the bottom left of each page, you will find the option to select your preferred language. You can choose between Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
However, each volunteering opportunity will be conducted in the language of the country where it will be carried out.
7. How can I take part in any of the volunteering opportunities?
You must first log in and, once on the portal, you can see the standout volunteering opportunities in the "standout content" section.
If you want to see all activities, click on "Volunteering", located at the top of the page, to find out about the available volunteering opportunities. You can use the search engine to find a specific volunteering opportunity or use the filters you have available to narrow down the search.
Of all the volunteering opportunities, you can choose the one that best suits your schedule, experience, and concerns, and sign up for it.
In the registration process, you can also indicate if you want to receive a reminder 48 hours before it takes place and, once registered, you will have the option to add the call to your Outlook calendar.
8. Can I take part in volunteering opportunities with my family and friends?
In some of the volunteering opportunities, you can take part with your family and/or friends.
All those who accompany you over 18 years of age must sign up on the portal and register individually for the volunteering opportunity they wish.
In the case of minors, you must first make sure that there are places left for both you and them. You must include them in your registration in the corresponding section, indicating whether they are a family member (son, nephew, etc.) or friend. You must also include their age group.
9. I want to take part with my team in one of the volunteering opportunities. How can we sign up?
To take part with your team in any of the volunteering opportunities, as a coordinator you must access the portal, select the team volunteering opportunity, and choose from all the available opportunities that you can see in the schedule section. You also have the catalogue with more information in the description.
In this case, the schedule section has information on the total number of groups that can sign up. If there are no longer any spaces available for the activity you are interested in, you can sign up for the waiting list or contact voluntariado@fundacionrepsol.com
It is important to complete all the questions so the volunteering opportunity can develop properly.
Once you sign up, indicating the day you are available, the Repsol Volunteering team will email you to provide you with a registration link that you must share with your teammates, so each person can use it to sign up.
10. An unforeseen event has come up and I will not be able to take part at the time I indicated. Can I change my time?
To change the time of the volunteering opportunity you want to take part in, first access your profile by clicking on your photo in the top right and then click on the “Volunteering” tab. There you will find the opportunities you have signed up for. You must then click on “Edit my commitment” in the opportunity you wish to attend at a different time, uncheck the time you had planned, and then check the one you wish to participate in.
Remember that, if you wish, you can check the option “Send me a reminder 48 hours before my turn” so you will be emailed the reminder.
And then finally, further down, click “Send”.
11. If I cannot attend, how can I cancel my registration?
If you are unable to attend your scheduled volunteering opportunity, you will need to cancel your registration on the volunteering portal in a similar way to changing your time.
To do this, first access your profile by clicking on your photo in the top right and then click on the “Volunteering” tab. There you will find the opportunities you have signed up for. You must access “Edit my commitment” and, if you cannot attend, uncheck the box for the time you signed up for and, further down, click on “Send”.
12. Do I need specific training or experience to take part in any of the volunteering opportunities?
No prior experience or specific training is required for most opportunities.
If you need specific training, we will organise online training sessions which we will organise for you in good time so you can attend, and we will send you the corresponding information.
13. Is it possible to keep a record of my volunteering hours?
You have the option to register your volunteering hours, both those you do from the Repsol Volunteers portal and those you do at a personal level in other social organisations.
To register your volunteering hours at the Repsol Foundation, you must access “My profile”, select the “volunteering” tab, and search for the volunteering opportunity where you want to include the information. You must click on “Register Time” to show where you can enter your hours of participation (remember not to include travel time). Lastly, we invite you to answer a short survey that will be very useful for us to consider improvements.
You have 24 hours from the end of the activity to add your dedication (hours/minutes), otherwise the standard schedule established automatically will be added after 36 hours.
To have a record of volunteering hours in other social organisations, you must click the “Volunteering” tab, choose “Register volunteering time”, and fill out the form. Specify the social organisation, duration (hours and minutes), and date of your participation and, if you wish, specific details of your collaboration.
14. Where can I find the impact generated, based on the volunteering hours I have recorded?
To check the impact you have generated, according to the volunteering hours you have registered, you must access “My impact” on the right of the home page.
Remember that your collaboration in each of the volunteering opportunities has a huge impact on people at risk of social exclusion, as well as the staff of the social organisations you have participated in.
15. I want to take part in Professional Volunteering. What does it consist of and what should I keep in mind to take part?
By participating in Professional Volunteering, you will join a multidisciplinary team of volunteers in a volunteering opportunity where you highlight your knowledge and personal and professional experience by supporting a social organisation.
Volunteers and social organisations will contribute together to an inclusive energy transition, empowering people in vulnerable situations in the face of the challenge of achieving a more sustainable world.
You will be able to collaborate flexibly, both online and in-person, from different countries, on projects that will be carried out in Spain and Portugal.
By signing up for this volunteering opportunity, you will be able to choose the type of project you would like to take part in: in energy efficiency plans for social organisations (based on the analysis of their facilities, the social organisation will be offered recommendations and improvements to reduce their energy consumption) or in raising awareness on energy efficiency among social organisations and people in vulnerable situations (designing a training and awareness-raising itinerary on issues related to energy efficiency).
All available opportunities appear under the title professional volunteering. You can also use the filter in the search to locate them quickly. Remember to choose the one that best suits your skills and interests.
To take part in these volunteering opportunities, you will receive initial training. Each team is organised independently, so although we estimate one hour a week will be needed, this will be adjusted according to the team members' decision.
16. If I have any questions, who should I contact?
