New agreement in collaboration with Casa África

Fundación Repsol has signed a new partnership with Casa África that aims to boost projects with a positive social impact in the African continent.

The agreement was signed at Fundación Repsol’s headquarters in Madrid, and was attended by José Segura Clavell, the executive managing director of Casa África, and António Calçada de Sá, vice-chairman of Fundación Repsol. This framework agreement lays the foundation for future collaborations that have a goal of boosting relationships and generating contacts between Spain and Africa.

As Segura stated, Africa has a population of 1.3 billion people; and it is estimated that in the next few years, it will be the continent that experiences the most growth in terms of economy and population. Because of that, it is important to recognise the role that cooperation in entrepreneurship, innovation, science, and technology plays in the strengthening of relationships between Spain and Africa, as we can note in both Casa África’s 2018-2021 Strategic Plan and in the Third Africa Plan between the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union, and Cooperación Española, in which Casa África participates as a public diplomat.

Calçada highlighted the importance of this collaboration with the African continent in order to promote global economic development. The Fundación Repsol vice-chairman emphasised the need for action in order to generate on-site development, especially focusing on education.

From now on, both institutions will begin to work on the development of new projects in line with Fundación Repsol’s commitment to building a more sustainable future.
