Repsol Foundation and Lideremos promote youth leadership within the framework of energy transition
  • Repsol Foundation is committed to young people and their role in building the society of the future.
  • This is the first time that an energy company, through its foundation, has supported them in their expansion plan.

The executive managing director of the Repsol Foundation, António Calçada, and the president of Lideremos. Tomás Güell signed an agreement today on Repsol Campus to promote the expansion plan of Lideremos and to hold various meetings with young people to reflect on the socioeconomic issues that concern them, such as housing, energy transition, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence.

This agreement will make it possible, through discussion and synergies, to highlight the role of young people and to generate debate and listen to young people in order to reflect on building tomorrow's society.

António Calçada stressed the importance of helping our young people to develop knowledge and a critical thinking, which will enable them to be true agents of change in the society of the future.

Tomás Güell expressed his desire to continue to generate a positive impact and be at the service of young people. "This new alliance means we can do this on an even larger scale."

Repsol Foundation

Repsol Foundation develops projects focused on energy transition and society to help create a more sustainable future, deploying its strategy across four lines of action:

  • Investment in companies and sectors of the new low-carbon economy that work towards a sustainable and inclusive energy transition, generating a three-fold positive impact: environmental, social and economic.
  • Business acceleration to support innovative technology-based solutions that contribute to accelerating the energy transition.
  • Spreading knowledge of the energy transition through different initiatives: a digital community for the dissemination of expert knowledge, Open Room; a network of Energy Transition Education and Research Programs at prestigious universities across Spain and Portugal, and Zinkers, a digital educational program for Primary and Secondary schools and Vocational Training with the aim of raising awareness among young people about the challenges of the future of energy.
  • Promoting social and volunteer projects related to the energy transition that drive social development and improve the employability of vulnerable groups.

Lideremos

Lideremos is a youth leadership and talent launching pad, a platform that seeks to generate positive social impact to improve the conditions of young people through advocacy, creating proposals and preparing the new generation of leaders of all types and sectors in Spain. Formed by over 15,500 people, Lideremos is a non-profit tool at the service of young people to seek their independent representation. Through active listening processes, it takes note of young people's problems and sets out legal proposals to improve these conditions at a state, autonomous community, and municipality level.

Since its founding, Lideremos, in its commitment to help the younger generation, has promoted innovative projects that address cross-cutting issues. Among its major achievements is the inclusion of the organization's proposals in the Spanish Government's forthcoming Suicide Prevention Action Plan 2025-2027, as well as its Más Salud Mental bill, now integrated into the Mental Health Plan 2025-2027. The platform also promotes initiatives such as the Less Bureaucracy Law, which seeks to simplify administrative processes to facilitate young people's access to resources and opportunities. The platform is present throughout Spain.
